The budget for street lighting is $2,950,000 for energy from PG&E and $957,000 for labor, materials and equipment. The Electrical Division usually responds to streetlight outages within 1 working day and checks back to see if the work was satisfactory. Oakland upgrades or installs approximately 300 streetlights each year in response to citizen requests. Oakland re-lamps and cleans the streetlight fixtures approximately every 6 years.
